July 9th, 2021: Today 15 years old Isabella posted on social media a video of Louis Tomlinson signing the word “singer” in sign language. Isabella has met Louis Tomlinson before and it appears that they have stayed in contact.

Isabella met Louis Tomlinson on the BBC One Show back in January of 2020 when he performed his new single Walls. At the time Louis surprised Isabella while she was in her dressing room preparing for the show. Louis is seen in a video posted by Isabella on her Youtube channel saying that he has seen the videos that she posts on social media and that he thinks they are amazing.

The videos Louis is talking about are videos Isabella records using sign language that she has learned in order to help her little brother Lucus who has Down syndrome. In particular Isabella has learned a form of communication called Makaton which uses signs together with speech and symbols, to enable people to communicate. During the interview with Louis back in January 2020, Isabella explains that her little brother could not communicate before she taught him how to use Makaton. Now Lucus can communicate with his family which has made him much happier. Isabella remarks in the interview that what makes Lucus happy, makes her happy.

On her Youtube channel Isabella has a combination of instructional videos where she teaches how to sign certain words, and more fun videos where she signs entire songs. Some of the songs that she has signed are Too Young by Louis Tomlinson, Canyon Moon by Harry Styles, and Our Song by Niall Horan and Anna Marie, among others.

This is not the first time that Louis shines a light on someone whom, in his view, deserves recognition and supports. In his interview for the BBC One Show Louis clearly communicates how impressed he is by 14 yo Isabella and by her selfless and good spirit. Louis has also a way, with small gestures such as video messages or gifts, to uplift people and make them feel special and loved. We think the connection with Isabella is particularly special because Louis has shown over the years that he knows sign language!
