September 18th, 2021: Harry Styles has partnered again with environmental organization Reverb and with HeadCount for his tour in the USA. Harry had partnered with these two organizations for his first solo tour as well.

Reverb was founded in 2004 by environmentalist Lauren Sullivan and her musician husband, Adam Gardner of Guster. The goal of Reverb is to reduce the impact of touring on the environment and to educate fans about environmental preservation. The idea is that a much bigger result can be obtained if everybody does something, even if small, than if only a few people do everything. Reverb engages fans in several different ways including through volunteering programs, via social media, and promoting car pooling programs from and to the venue. Reverb also works with the musicians and their touring companies to develop a plan that reduces the overall environmental impact of their tour. Some of the programs that Reverb offers are: recycling of all the waste produced by the crew, partnering of the touring company with local farms, supplementation of green products and solutions for backstage use and for use by the fans (for example, Reverb sets up free water refill stations), refillable water bottles, calculation and reduction of the carbon emission associated with the tour’s operations, and coordination of biodiesel fueling from local and sustainable stocks. To achieve these goals Reverb partners with both local and national nonprofits, brands, and organizations whose complete list can be found here. Following Harry’s last tour, Reverb published the results of its partnership with the artist: “Altogether, fans took nearly 20,000 individual actions at Harry’s shows and eliminated over 10,000 single-use plastic water bottles. The tour did its part, too, eliminating more than 3,000 single-use bottles backstage and diverting over 6,700 gallons of recyclables from the waste stream.” For this tour, Reverb has a refillable water bottle available in limited edition with the logo “Harry Styles presents Love on Tour” for anybody who places a donation.

HeadCount is a non profit organization that works with musicians to promote the participation in democracy in the USA. One of its main activities is to register people to vote at concerts and festivals. Since its inception in 2004, HeadCount has registered already 1 million voters. Its mission as stated on its website is: “HeadCount is a non-partisan organization that uses the power of music to register voters and promote participation in democracy. We reach young people and music fans where they already are – at concerts and online – to inform and empower.” The organization was in 2004 by Marc Brownstein, the bass player for the popular electronic rock band The Disco Biscuits, and his friend Andy Bernstein, the author of The Pharmer’s Almanac, a series of books about the band Phish.

Harry has shown many time through his charity work and his social media postings that he deeply cares about the environment and about social issues. It is not a surprise that he renewed his partnership with these two organizations for Love On Tour, his second tour as a solo artist.
